Glen D. Morgan, 90, of Canton, PA passed away peacefully, Saturday June 24, 2017 at the Bradford County Manor.

Glen Doyle Morgan was born on December 14, 1926 at his family’s home near Shunk, PA. He was one of 15 children born in the family of the late William and Belle (Brown) Morgan.  As a young man, he worked on the family’s farm and was baptized at the former Maple Summit Church in Shunk.  Glen later graduated from the Estella High School in 1944. Shortly following graduation, He enlisted with the U.S. Army and proudly served our country during WWII. On April 18, 1950 Glen married the former Elizabeth Best in Bell Air, MD, together they celebrated 67 years and raised a daughter, Beverly.

Glen and Betty settled in Canton to make their home. He was one of the first people to be hired at the former Schrader-Bellow’s Valvair in Canton and had worked there over 40 years before retiring in 1990. Glen will also be fondly remembered for his and Otto Morgan’s Hotdog Wagon, working together on the streets of Canton and the Dunn Hill Raceway.

Glen loved to take long walks and he was a problem solver who enjoyed figuring things out. He enjoyed tinkering on just about anything especially old cars. Favorite times were going to the Chatter Box for the morning coffee group and every Thursday having lunch with his friend and nephew, Dr. Ralph Rathbun. Glen was a member of the Canton V.F.W. Post 714 and I.M.A. Local 1190.

Glen is survived by his beloved wife, Betty, a daughter, Beverly (and Fred) Seeley of Canton, grandchildren, Brett (and Karin) Seeley of Bloomsburg, Todd (Kristin) Seeley of Canton, Trevor (Tiffany) Seeley of Carlisle, great- grandchildren, Katrina, Annika, Lauren, Sarah, Michael, Marshall, Mason, Josephine, Siblings, Dale (and Dorothy) Morgan of AL, John (and Beverly) Morgan of Ulster, Josephine Lewis of Hillsgrove, sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Doris (and Bill) Wright , Janice Ward, Paul (and Lenora) Best, Dale (and Kathy) Best, numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends who often visited Glen at the Manor, Hess Wilcox and Edye Waldemeyer.

In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his siblings and their spouses, Doris (and Dean) Rathbun, Norma (and Richard) Lodge, Frank (and Thelma) Morgan, Lyle (and Florence) Morgan, Dorothy Kipp, Madeline (and Charles) Kilmer, Esther (and Gail) Clisso, Melvin (and Joyce) Morgan, Martin (and Lola) Morgan, Vance and Stanley Morgan, sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Robert (and Marge) Best, Lloyd, James, Marty and Beatrice Best, Robert Ward and Dwight Lewis.

Calling hours are 11 a.m. – 1 p.m. Tuesday, June 27, at Pepper Funeral Home, 578 Springbrook Dr., Canton.  Pastor Charlotte Morse will officiate the funeral service following visitation with military honors accorded.  Burial will be held in Beech Flats Cemetery.

Words cannot express how much Glen and his family meant to us on I east, It was a pleasure to get to know Glen and be apart of his life. He always made us laugh. He was a great person. He will be missed from all of us on 1 EAST.
