Dear Kathy, Bill, Kenny, Julia, Michael, Bryan, Taylor, we are so sorry you have lost Mike. What a good man!
Mike’s love of family and his optimism and cheerful nature made him the informal leader of us Desmond cousins. A few decades ago he began getting us all in better touch — a phone call to Mike got you all the news, from every branch of the family. And Mike was the managerial force behind several reunions — that’s how I got reacquainted with all you NIckersons as adults, including Lila and Nancy before they left us — Thank you so much , Mike!
Of all of us, I think Mike was the most like our grandfather. Anytime I was with Mike, or talked with him on the phone, I was instantly reminded of Pop. But it wasn’t just voice, or appearance — it was that strong loyalty and care for everyone that was such a big part of both of them.
Farewell Mike. We’re blessed to have had you with us.

Love, Morgan and Ellen

Dear Julie, Michael, Bryan and Taylor:
You are all in my thoughts this week. I'm so sorry to hear of your Dad's death. Reading about him I learned a lot about what he had contributed in his too-short life. I hope being together and your memories can bring you comfort. Know that you are loved.
