Donnalee Morgan, 76, of Ithaca, NY, formerly of Canton, PA, passed away at Cayuga Medical Center while surrounded by loved ones on Sunday, March 11, 2018.

On August 18, 1941, Donnalee was born in Cortland, NY, a daughter of the late George and Christine (Garverick) Hart.  She graduated with Canton High School’s class of 1960.   Donnalee was a former member of the Church of Christ in Grover, PA.  She worked as a data entry specialist for Ithaca College until retiring in 2001.  She later volunteered with the Golden Agers at the Ithaca Salvation Army.

Times spent with family were most enjoyable and very important to Donnalee; she especially loved her grandchildren.  She was a NASCAR and Dale Earnhardt, Jr. fan, enjoyed reading, watching Hallmark TV movies, and playing board games.  In earlier years she loved to bowl.  Donnalee will be lovingly remembered for overcoming many hardships and health concerns during her life by relying on her faith in God.

Surviving are her children; Kimberly (Donald) Sutfin of Freeville, NY, Robin Dingler of Ithaca, NY and LuAnn (Gary) Paugh of Friedens, PA, grandchildren; Troy Sutfin, John (Allyssa) Sutfin, Joe Sutfin, Madison Dingler and Jessica Paquette,  great grandson; Craig James “CJ” McKnight, a brother, William (Rosalie) Finnerty of Dryden, NY, brother-in-law, Gerald Spencer of Canton, PA, sisters-in-law, Audrey (Carl) Bedford of Mehoopany, PA, Carol Morgan of Canton, PA and Elaine Morgan of New York, several nieces, nephews and cousins.

She was predeceased by her first husband, Robert Fleming; her second husband, Darwin Morgan; siblings, Kenneth Finnerty, Jean Keech, Grace Spencer and Betty Willow, brothers-in-law; Chester Willow and Robert Keech; two special nephews, Ricky Finnerty and Alan Spencer.  Also several brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law.

Calling hours are 11 – 1 p.m. Saturday, March 17, 2018 at Pepper Funeral Home & Cremation Facility, 578 Springbrook Dr. Canton.  Rev. Nancy Beahm will officiate a memorial service at 1 p.m.  Burial will be in East Canton Cemetery at a later date.  Those who wish may consider a memorial donation to the American Heart Association, 1704 Warren Ave. Williamsport, PA 17701.

I worked with Donnalee for several years here at Ithaca College. We shared an office in the basement of the performing arts building for a time until her chemical sensitivities kicked up and she went off to more private office spaces.
I admired her forbearance during those trying times.
I am glad she had some years of retirement in which she could volunteer and enjoy her family more.
My condolences to all of you.
