Ann M. Bowens, 86, of Blossburg, PA, passed away Saturday evening, July 7, 2018 at Broad Acres in Wellsboro.
Ann Marie was born June 23, 1932 in Morris Run, PA, the last surviving child of the late Walter and Agnes (Stachowski) Lutomski. She was a 1950 graduate of Blossburg High
School. On May 11, 1968, Ann married Robert “Bob” Bowens Jr. in the St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, Morris Run.
Ann enjoyed her work as an office secretary. Throughout her career she was employed by J.P. Ward Foundry in Blossburg, First National Bank in Corning and the guidance counselor’s office at North Penn High School. She later served as an associate for Walmart in Mansfield for 10 years until retirement. Ann was a member of Blossburg’s St. Mary’s Catholic Church. She was a life member of Hillside Rod & Gun Club and Arnot Sportsman’s Club. She was an avid bingo player, enjoyed golf and was a big fan of Tiger Woods.
In addition to her husband Bob, surviving is her son, Robert D. (Amy) Bowens of Blossburg, grandchildren, Hannah and Spencer Bowens, two sisters-in-law; Dorothy Lutomski of Blossburg and Edna LeVan of Osceola, PA, special niece, Vicky Kaminski of Rochester, NY and several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by her grandson, Robert Bowens III and siblings; Lucy Manikowski, Veronica Tokarz, Edward, Alzy, Chester and Leonard Lutomski.
Calling hours are 7 – 9 p.m. Thursday, July 12, at Pepper Funeral Home and Cremation Facility, 314 Granger St., Blossburg. The Mass of Christian burial will be held 10 a.m. Friday at St. Mary’s of Czestochowa Church in Blossburg. Burial will be at a later date in Morris Run’s St. Joseph’s Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, consider a memorial to the Blossburg Memorial Library, 307 Main St. Blossburg, PA 16912 or to the National Kidney Foundation 30 E. 33rd St. New York, NY 10016.
