Even keeled, voice of reason, a calm in the storm, a blessing…. there will never be enough words to accurately portray the exceptional man David was, and losing such a man is a devastating blow to all who knew and loved him. David, 65 years old, residing in Troy, PA passed away Wednesday, May 29, 2019 at the Geisinger Medical Center in Danville, PA.
David was born November 30, 1953, in Chippewa Falls, WI to the late Oral & Ella Malosh. He was proud to be baptized as one of Jehovah’s Witnesses on July 12, 1968. From July 1973 to June 1975 he volunteered at the World Headquarters of Jehovah’s Witnesses located at the time in Brooklyn NY. He continued in that work at the new printery in Wallkill, NY. David worked in the pre-press department becoming a skilled hot metal plate maker.
It was in Brooklyn, NY where David met Eileen Hickok of Troy, the true love of his life. The two were married on June 5, 1976. Together they worked as volunteers at Wallkill for close to 20 years, where David was involved in pre-press, factory projects, purchasing and in the construction office. David then started a new career in real estate/appraisals. In the last few years David was able to use this vast experience to assist the LDC, which cares for the needs of places of worship for Jehovah’s Witnesses. Challenging, but fun to him, this was a privilege that he genuinely cherished.
David was truly a spiritual man, beginning each day with Bible reading. He loved doing Bible research, using it to help others whether friend, stranger or in the local congregation where he lovingly served as an elder. He never missed an opportunity to show that he cared and spent hours in full time ministry giving words of Bible wisdom to those who needed and wanted to hear it. David was strong in character but with a gentle soul.
David loved coffee on the deck in the morning sun, fishing, canasta, gardening.
David will be most greatly missed by his loving wife, Eileen, of nearly 43 years. David is also survived by his brother, Russ (Cherrill) Anderson, his sisters MaryLou Roessel, LaVonne Diamond, Avis Slattery, Donna (Mike) Garcia, Joann Lowery, his mother-in-law Merriel Hickok, brothers-in-law Randy (Maureen)Hickok, Mark Hamby , Brent (Carol) Hickok, Kevin (Joanna) Hickok, Greg (Christina) Hickok and sisters-in-law Shayla (Wayne) Chace, Denise(Jay) Andrus, Valerie Hickok and several very special nieces & nephews. David will also be greatly missed by his spiritual brothers and sisters in the local congregation of Jehovah’s Witnesses, along with those whom he mentored and cared for as if they were his very own sons and daughters.
