Shirley Ann (Finnerty) Mix

February 10, 1936 ~ March 5, 2018 (age 82)
Shirley A. Mix, 82, of Canton, PA passed away at home on Monday morning, March 5, 2018.

Shirley Ann Finnerty was born February 10, 1936 in Bradford County, a daughter of the late James and Elizabeth (Isabelle) Finnerty.  She was a member of Troy High School’s graduating class of 1954 and was their Homecoming Queen and a cheerleader.  Shirley possessed a strong work ethic and enjoyed being busy with a new interest or a project all her life. She was employed at Troy’s American Silk Company for over 30 years and later enjoyed her work as a caregiver at Futures Community Support Services and as a home health aide.  

Shirley was a semi pro bowler.  She was honored and inducted into Troy’s Terrace Lanes Bowling Hall of Fame and enjoyed traveling to many events.  Shirley also especially enjoyed lunch with her dearest friend, Jeannie Duart; trips to Tioga Downs Casino and playing Euchre and Thirteen card games with family and friends.  In earlier years she attended the Troy Presbyterian Church  

Surviving is her husband, Ronald, three children; Terry Robson Jarocki (Tom) of Mount Pleasant, SC, James Robson (Cecy) of Waxhaw, NC and Robin Mix Cummings of Canton, five stepchildren; Cathy McCarty of Shunk, Cindy Wheeler of Mainsburg, Carol (Jeff) Deitrick of New Cumberland, Chris (John) Lee of Roaring Branch and Connie (Bob) Zagman of New Cumberland, 11 grandchildren; Ryan and Laney Crofut, Kyle and MacKenzi Jarocki, Lily, Logan and Maggie Robson, Jody (Andy) Tice, Jason Robson, Tim (Haley) Robson and Kevin (Vicki) Robson, several step-grandchildren and many great grandchildren, a brother and sister-in-law; James (Mary) Finnerty Jr. of Montana and Sharon Finnerty of Col X Rds., many nieces, nephews and cousins.  Also her beloved cats, Lucky and Chantal.
Shirley was predeceased by her son, Bradley Robson and a brother, Richard Finnerty.

Calling hours are 11 – 1 p.m. Friday, Mar. 9, at Pepper Funeral Home & Cremation Facility, 578 Springbrook Dr. in Canton.  Her grandson, Pastor Tim Robson, will officiate a memorial service to celebrate Shirley’s life at 1 p.m.  Burial will be private at a later date.  In lieu of flowers, consider a donation in Shirley’s memory to Terrace Lanes, 195 Weigester St. Troy, PA 16947.
