Obituary

Adrianne (Scott) VanNoy, 83, of Troy, passed away on Wednesday, March 18, 2026, at the Robert Packer Hospital in Sayre. Adrianne was born on August 14, 1942, in Elmira, one of seven children of the late Robert and Alice (Shaw) Scott. She attended Troy area schools and graduated with the Class of 1964. She later continued her education at Mansfield College, where she earned her teaching degree.

On June 26, 1965, Adrianne married F. Duane VanNoy, Attorney at Law, in her family’s home in East Troy. Together they shared 19 years of loving marriage and raised two children, prior to Duane’s passing in 1985,

Adrianne spent many years as an elementary school teacher in Louisville, KY, supporting her husband while he attended law school. After returning to Troy, she owned and operated Little Learners Nursery, where she lovingly guided and cared for two generations of children. She cherished the little ones and the families who entrusted them to her care. Adrianne also served as a substitute teacher in both the Canton and Troy school districts.

She was a devoted member of the Windfall Community Church, belonged to the Red Hatters, served as a Junior Grange Leader, and coached the Troy girls’ softball little league.

Adrianne loved playing cards and always looked forward to her many dinners at the Iron Skillet with the various groups of women she was part of. She treasured the weekly prayer groups she hosted in her home. Adrianne enjoyed traveling the world and embraced every opportunity to see new places.

She was a kind and generous woman who would help anyone she could, and her entire community loved her. Most important to Adrianne was her family, especially the time she spent with her grandchildren and great‑grandchildren.

Adrianne leaves behind her children; Regina Sabido of Mission, TX and George Vannoy (Katrina Hill) of Woodsfield, OH, grandchildren; Joshua (Paige) McClelland, Cassandra Stone, Isabella Villalobos, Dylan VanNoy, Jackson VanNoy and Dalton Revels, great grandchildren; Casen Glisson, Cash Stone and Maverick McClelland siblings; Robert Scott and Jeanne Duart, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends.
