IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Alice J.
(Lee) Brown
May 25, 1953 – November 12, 2024
Alice J. (Lee) Brown, 71, of Canton, passed away at her residence on Tuesday, November 12, 2024. Alice Jean was born May 25, 1953, in Gouverneur, New York, second oldest of 13 children to the late William and Ruth (Swem) Lee. She attended Troy Area Schools and was a graduate of the class of 1973. She was a former member of the Canton Moose Lodge 429. In her earlier years, Alice was employed for 22 years as a bartender at the Just in Time and most recently at the Acorn Market in Canton for several years until her health no longer permitted her to work.
Alice loved playing lottery tickets. She liked her Pepsi, especially along with a KFC Bowl. Miller Lite was another beverage she enjoyed, but it had to be out of a glass. Alice was a quiet individual who liked to keep to herself. She would cozy up in a blanket with comfy jammies and do a word search while listening to Elvis Presley. It never took much to make Alice happy; she truly appreciated the simple things in life. She had a contagious laugh and gave the best hugs. Alice adored her cats, particularly Bandit, as well as her grand puppy Jazzy. Most important to Alice was time spent with her family, above all her grandchildren, who she cherished. They were her whole world.
Alice leaves behind her children; Kenny Brown and Casey Brown grandchildren; Abbigayl Brown, Taylor Stone (Taylor Walsh), Savanah Brown, Austin Brown and Conner Brown, great grandchildren; Aubree Laudenslager, Alieyah Dallas and Christian Brown, siblings; Kathy Kauffman of Washington, Pa., Marjorie Patry, Thomas Lee, Robert Lee all of Troy, William (Paul) Lee of Harrisburg, brothers-in-law; Shawn Bruce, Bill Roberts and Paul McGovern, special neighbors; Amy Chagnon and Sarah Barret, her faithful feline companion of 15 years; Baby, as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Besides her parents, Alice was predeceased by siblings; Linda Bruce, Susie Irene Lee, Margaret Terrel, Barbara Jennings, Donna Roberts, Charles Lee and Scott Lee, brothers-in-law; Timothy Jennings, Carson Kauffman, Ivan Patry and Wayne Walborn.
A celebration of Alice's life will be held at 1 P.M. on Saturday, November 16, 2024, at Pepper Funeral Home, 578 Springbrook Drive in Canton.
