IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Anthony M.
Pelton
December 28, 1983 – June 30, 2025
Anthony M. Pelton, 41, of Monroeton, passed away peacefully at his home on Monday, June 30, 2025, after a courageous battle with cancer. He faced his illness with the same grit, determination, and sense of humor that defined his life. Born on December 28, 1983, in Sayre, Anthony was the beloved son of Steve and Connie (Nichols) Pelton. He attended Towanda Area Schools and worked alongside his family at Pelton Trucking until health challenges made it impossible to continue.
Trucking was Anthony's passion from the very beginning. As a child, he was often found sneaking through fields and over creeks just to spend time at the truck garage. If he wasn't there, he was likely tearing around on a four-wheeler or bicycle—or chasing the action in his pickup.
Throughout his life, Anthony tried his hand at hauling cattle, grain, and gravel, and even worked in the parts department of a Kenworth dealership. But he was happiest behind the wheel of his Peterbilt, picking up and delivering milk. He loved running farm equipment, attending truck shows, and was especially passionate about racing—both watching and participating. The Troy Fair was a highlight each year, where he took special joy in pulling a Pelton Truck and cheering on the truck pulls.
Anthony had a deep love for his Mustang, his Peterbilt, his country, his friends, and above all, his family. His greatest sorrow was not having more time to spend with loved ones, especially watching his niece and nephews grow up. He had looked forward to teaching Axle how to drive his Peterbilt.
Known for his adventurous spirit and infectious energy, Anthony brought light and laughter wherever he went. He was full of mischief and always ready to dive into something new—you never quite knew what he was up to, but you always knew when he was near. His bold presence was like lightning and his warmth like sunshine. He will be profoundly missed by all who knew and loved him.
Anthony leaves behind his parents; Steve and Connie Pelton, brother; Sean (Melinda) Pelton, nephews; Axle and Asher Pelton, niece; Skylar Pelton all of which he loved tremendously, special friend; Jessica Ensminger and her children; Madelyn Keeney and Matthew Keeney (Katie Kendall) as well as several aunts, uncles, cousins and dear friends.
Anthony was predeceased by his grandparents; Donald (Charity) Pelton and Charles (June) Nichols, an aunt; Jolene Ragan and an infant cousin; Gabe Robson.
A celebration of Anthony's life will be announced. Pepper Funeral Home and Cremation Facility in Canton is handling arrangements. In lieu of flowers, donations in Anthony's memory may be made to the Wounded Warriors Project (PO Box 758516, Topeka, KS 66675) or the Pancreatic Cancer Research Center (3400 Civic Center Blvd., Philadelphia, PA 19104).
