Arvid B. "Curley" Nelson, 86, of Dushore, Pa., passed away unexpectedly on July 14, 2019.
Arvid was born December 9, 1932 in Williamsport, Pa., to the late Arvid and Mabel (Weaver) Nelson. He attended Montoursville High School and shortly after graduating he moved to Sullivan County and pursued his passion for farming. Curley started his own dairy farm in the early 1950's and later farmed crops and operated his own sawmill. He was known to many as a "Jack of All Trades", a gifted mechanic and could out work just about anyone.
Besides his parents he was predeceased by a son; Eric Nelson, a daughter-in-law; Nancy Nelson, and a grandson; Rick Nelson.
Surviving Mr. Nelson are his son; Michael Nelson of Towanda, Pa., daughters; Jean (Steve) Hotchkiss of Sugar Groove, Pa., Cindy Colewell and Bonnie Johnson both of the Pittsburgh area, his companion Ruth Brown of Dushore, several grandchildren, great grandchildren, siblings and many extended family members.
In accordance with Curley's wishes there will be no services. Pepper Funeral Home and Cremation Facility, Inc. in Canton, Pa. is assisting the family with arrangements.
