Barbara A. (Hamm) Chilson, 85, of Canton, passed away on Thursday, March 6, 2025, at the Robert Packer Hospital in Sayre. Barbara was born March 30, 1939, in Towanda, a daughter of the late Arthur Hamm and Geraldine (Hatch) Hamm Parks. She attended Canton Area Schools and was a graduate of the class of 1957. On February 6, 1960, Barb married her soulmate, Max Chilson, in the Alba Church. Together the couple shared 23 years of marriage and raised five children until Max's passing in 1985. Ma, as known by many, was employed at Canton Manufacturing in her younger years. She then worked at the Acorn Market in Canton and provided home health care.

Barb enjoyed crocheting and putting together puzzles. Visiting with the elderly always held a special place in her heart. Her most memorable times were having family reunions and spending time with her family.

Ma leaves behind her children; Joan (Marty) Segur Of Canton, David (Nichole) Chilson of Alaska, Max (Renee) Chilson of Arizona and Jerry Chilson of Canton, sisters; Eunice Haflett of Wellsboro, Audrey "Polly" (Larry) Vanderhoff of Elmira, Bonnie (Harold "Skeet") Lathrop of Florida, a brother; Arthur "Pete" (Mona) Hamm of Canton, as well as 16 grandchildren, 24 great grandchildren, great great granddaughter, numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and her special canine companion, Lucy.

Besides her parents, Barb was predeceased by her daughter; Kathy May, an infant son, a grandson; baby boy Hudson, brothers; Paul and Howard and a sister; Pauline.

In maintaining to Barb's wishes, there will be no public services. A private burial will be held in the Bradford County Memorial Park at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Mrs. Chilson's name may be directed to the American Cancer Society, 1948 E. 3rd Street, Williamsport, PA 17701.
