Bart L. Chaapel, 45, of Canton, passed away on Monday, October 30, 2023, at his residence. Bart Leonard was born September 21, 1978 in Sayre, a son to the late Paul and Dawn (Foster) Chaapel. On January 25, 2008, Bart married Deanna Chaapel in Troy. Together they shared 15 years of marriage and had two daughters. Bart was most recently employed by Cummings Lumber in Troy as a saw operator.

Bart was an enthusiastic football fan, cheering for Penn State and the Buccaneers. He loved watching NASCAR and would make bets on who was going to win the race with his daughter Ashlynne. He enjoyed listening to music and riding rollercoasters with is daughter Mackenzie.

Surviving Bart is his wife; Deanna Chaapel, daughters; Ashlynne and Mackenzie Chaapel all at home, sisters; Susie Chaapel of Bellefonte, PA and Gabby Chaapel of North Carolina as well as several aunts, uncles, cousins and dear friends.

Bart was predeceased by his parents.

A memorial service to honor the life of Bart will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, November 11, 2023, at the Grover Church of Christ. Burial will be private and at the convenience of the family. Pepper Funeral Home and Cremation Facility, 578 Springbrook Drive in Canton is assisting the family with arrangements.
