Beatrice E. (Meyer) Jones, 99, of Granville Summit, went home to be with her Lord on Friday, January 24, 2025. Beatrice was born January 28, 1926, at her home in Elizabeth, New Jersey, a daughter of the late Frederick and Mary (Troeger) Meyer. Bea went with her family to St. Mary's Catholic Church in Elizabeth, NJ, where she was Baptized, had her first Holy Communion and her Confirmation. She attended Batton High School in Linden, New Jersey. After High School she was inspired by Rosie the Riveter and became Bea the Assembler in an airplane factory during the WWII making navigation instruments for war planes.
Beatrice met the love of her life, Lloyd Jones, in 1941 and married on him August 27, 1943, Baltimore, Maryland. Lloyd and Bea then moved out of the city to a small farm in Granville Summit where they had wonderful happiness in the country. The couple were married 61 years, until Lloyd's passing in 2004. They loved their family and had many good memories of spending time with their children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Bea enjoyed sewing, reading and listening to music. She was a woman of faith who loved her family and church. Time spent with her family was always her most treasured.
Beatrice leaves behind her son; Robert (Diane) Jones of Granville Summit, son-in-law; Douglas Bennett of Granville Summit, grandchildren; Beth Ann (John) Kingsbury, Tom (Jeanette) Bennett, Aaron (Kerryann) Jones, Anna Ruth (Dan) Rivera, Charity Jones (Jason), great grandchildren; Michaela, Matthew (Karissa), Josh (Jamie), Andie (Breann) Sarah, Catherine, Jack, Nolan and Finley, great-great grandchildren; Jack, Reed, Evelyn, Caroline, Kennedy, Emmerson, Abby, Masey and Lyla, as well as nieces nephews and cousins.
Besides her parents and husband Lloyd, Bea was predeceased by her Beloved daughter; Carol Bennett and sisters; Clara, Henry, Marie, Dorothy and Charlotte.
A time of visitation will be held on Saturday, February 1, 2025, from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. at St. Michaels Catholic Church, 106 North Washington Street, Canton, PA 17724. A funeral service will follow at 11 a.m. with Father Joe Kutch Officiating. Burial will be held in Leroy Cemetery. Pepper Funeral Home and Cremation Facility, 578 Springbrook Drive in Canton is assisting the family with arrangements.
