Betty J. (Sterling) Chesnut, 65, of Roaring Branch, passed away peacefully at the Corning Guthrie Hospital on Sunday, November 7, 2021,surrounded byloving family. Betty Jane was born in Williamsport on September 20, 1956; a daughter to James and the late Emily (Dalrylmple) Sterling. She attended Montoursville High School and graduated with the class of 1974. On April 23, 1977 she married her soulmate, Durbin Chesnut. Together they shared44 years of devotedmarriage and raised three children.

Betty had a passion for cooking. She never failed to present a lavish meal for her family and friends. Family was of the utmost importance and she always took care of them, especially hergrandchildren.

She leaves behind;her father; James Sterling of Gulfport, MS, beloved husband; Durbin "Durb" Chesnut of Roaring Branch, children; April Chesnut (Doug) of Grover, Cody (Tina) Chesnut of Union Dale,Nathan Chesnut of Aztec, NM, sister; Billie Jo Sterling of Snead, AL,six grandchildren, that she loved more than anything, Zach Davy (Brittany), Sarah Davy, Allison, Alyvia and Oren Chesnut and her canine companion Teddy, as well as, nieces, nephews, cousins and many dear friends.

Besides her mother, Betty waspredeceased bya grandson Austin Chesnut.

In keeping withBetty's wishes services will be private and at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, consider a memorial donation in Betty's name to a local animal shelter of one's choice.
