Carol K. (Beardslee) Welch, 78, of Canton, PA, went home to Christ on March 17, 2026, at the Robert Packer Skilled Nursing Care facility in Towanda.
Born on February 23, 1948, in Elmira, NY, Carol was the daughter of William L. and Virginia (Crane) Beardslee. She was a 1966 graduate of Troy High School, where she was active in the band, played alto saxophone, and participated in the 4‑H Horse Club.
Carol built a dedicated and varied career of service within her community. She worked as a Certified Phlebotomy Technician at Troy Hospital, served as Branch Manager of Star Savings & Loan, and later became an Independent Insurance Broker, owning and operating the Carol Welch Insurance Agency from 1990 until her retirement in 2015. She also gave generously of her time, serving as President of the Troy Rotary Club and Treasurer of Rekindle the Spirit.
She is survived by her loving partner, Richard Garner; daughters, Tereasa (Jay) Forbes and Samantha Kittle (Casey Clegg); grandchildren, Alexandra (Dominique) Martin, Andrew (Anna) May, and Vanessa (Isaac) Havens. She was also blessed with great‑grandchildren Amara and Addy May, and Rowdy and Ryot Havens.
Carol is further survived by her sisters, Elizabeth (Gary) Horning and Cherie (Gary) Tanner, as well as several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Besides her parents, Carol was predeceased by; sisters Cindy Beardslee and Diane (Beardslee) Harkness.
A celebration of Carol’s life will be held 1p.m. to 4p.m. on Sunday, April 19, 2026, at the Troy Sale Barn, 50 Ballard Street, Troy, PA 16947.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Carol’s honor may be directed to the Hershey Medical Center Care Fund, 500 University Drive, Hershey, PA 17033, where her granddaughter, Alexandra, received treatment for Crohn’s Disease.The Pepper Funeral Home and Cremation Facility, 578 Springbrook Drive in Canton is assisting the family with arrangements.
