Charles "Chuck" Barnes, 62, of Troy, PA passed away unexpectedly on Saturday evening June 1, 2024, with his long-time partner, Linda Wilber by his side at the Guthrie Troy Community Hospital. Charles James was born May 7, 1962, in Blossburg, a son of the late Lawrence and Grace (Moyer) Barnes. He attended Canton area schools and was a graduate of the class of 1981. Chuck was employed at Baumunk's Lumber Mill in Shunk from 1985-2010, Oak Hill Veneer and most recently the Daily Review in Towanda. He was a member of the Canton Moose Lodge 429.
Chuck was a true outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting and fishing. He loved watching Nascar races and was an avid Rusty Wallace fan. Chuck was always up for a game of horseshoes and was on the men's Moose horseshoe league. Playing rip off tickets was another favorite past time, always hoping for the big winner. Most importantly Chuck enjoyed life and spending time with his family.
Chuck leaves behind his long-time partner; Linda Wilber of Troy, brothers; Michael (Nora) Barnes of Canton, Jake (Kim) Barnes of Blossburg and Robert (Denna) Barnes of Ohio, sisters; Nancy Nybeck of Blossburg, Pamela Brotzman of Grover and Miranda Barnes of Mansfield as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Besides his parents, Chuck was predeceased by a brother; Thomas Barnes, a sister; Donna Patrick and a brother-in-law; Alan Brotzman.
A memorial service to celebrate Chuck's life will be held at 5 p.m. Saturday, June 8, 2024, at the Pepper Funeral Home and Cremation Facility, 578 Springbrook Drive in Canton with Rev. Duane Taylor officiating. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be directed to the Pepper Funeral Home, 578 Springbrook Drive, Canton, PA 17724 to help assist with funeral expenses.
