Charles E. Porter, 87, of Canton (Union Twp., Tioga County, Pennsylvania) passed away peacefully, Thursday, October 1, 2020 at his home.

Charles Elwin was born May 24, 1933 in Canton, the only son of the late Elwin Emerson and Grace Eleanor (McKee) Porter.

As a young man he attended Canton Area School andgraduated with the class of 1951.

He later acquired his family's dairy farm in the beautiful country side of UnionTownship. Charles was a hard worker and saw to the dairy's daily operation untilhanding the tradition down in 1996 to his son, Dennis.

Charlie enjoyed hunting, especially with family. He was a true sports enthusiastand loved to watch his grandchildren play sports. Charles was an avid Oriolesfan. He and family attended ball games in Baltimore since 1966.

Surviving are his two children, Diane (George) Cashell of Shippensburg, Dennis(Mary Ann) Porter of Canton, grandchildren, Lindsey (Kevin) Rathbun of CantonShane (Amanda) Porter of Long Valley, NJ, Trisha McIlwain of Liberty, WilliamJordan (Brittany) McIlwain of Wellsboro, a grandson in law, Jon Brackman ofCanton, great grandchildren, Kathryne, Tripp, Wylan, Ava, Landon, Hunter,Kaiden, sisters, Anita Evans of Canton, Joyce (Bud) Mitstiffer of Myerstown, Beverly (Jim) Drake of Carlisle, several nieces, nephews, cousins, closeneighbors and friends.

Besides his parents, He was predeceased by a granddaughter, Teresa(McIlwain) Brackman, a sister and two brothers in law, Marjorie (John) Yeagerand Glen Evans.

In keeping with Charles' wishes all services will be private. The Pepper FuneralHome and Cremation Facility, Inc., 578 Springbrook Drive, Canton, PA., isassisting the family with arrangements.
