Connie R. (Landon)
Kern
Mar 4, 1942 — Jun 29, 2026
Connie Kern, 84 of Canton, PA passed away at the Robert Packer Hospital in Sayre, PA on Monday June 29th, 2026. We find joy in knowing she is now with her loving Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
Connie Rae Landon was born on March 4, 1942, in Sayre, to the late Jim and Marie Landon. She was the oldest of 4 girls. In her youth she was active on their farm in Roaring Branch as well as many activities in school. She met her husband, Malcolm Kern in Wildwood, NJ. She spent her summers there working at The Colony restaurant. Malcolm and Connie married on July 15th, 1972. They built their house and established themselves in the Canton community. She spent her career as a dental assistant. She would make herself available on a moment’s notice to make dental repairs. She was well known by all in the community for her dedication to her job and was a helpful servant for those who knew her. If you didn’t know Connie chances are, she probably knew you. She spent many summers at her sister Sharon’s blueberry farm in Gillett, PA. She was the best picker there ever was, and she truly enjoyed it. In her later years she enjoyed many weekly breakfasts with friends, Red Hatters events, and many local church events. She was a member of the North Union Christian Church where she attended Sunday services.
She was full of life and always on the go. Connie traveled all over the world with numerous people that were dear to her heart. Many cruises, local bus trips and even to Africa and China. Too many places to list.
A few years after Malcolm passed, Connie was introduced to Doug Bennett who was widowed also. They traveled, shared many meals, Doug even convinced her to go hunting with him, and she loved it. Doug’s family became her family and their love for each other was evident to all those they came in contact with.
She is survived by three sisters, Sharon Hansell of Gillett, Sandie Rusk of Canton and Peggy Landon of Pittsburgh, several nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, and great-great nieces and great-great nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband Malcolm Kern and parents Jim and Marie (Barrow) Landon.
The family is requesting privacy during this great loss. There will be a private service for the family, and a celebration of life will be announced at a later date.
