Coyce Hicks, 57, of Canton, PA, passed away peacefully at home on Sunday, November 30, 2014.
Born on August 13, 1957 in Williamsport, Coyce was one of four children of Eddie and Janice (Hagar) Hicks. He was a 1975 graduate of Liberty High School. Coyce married the former Denise Micklitsch on November 22, 1985. In earlier years he was employed by Marathon Carey McFalls and Chromographic Co. both in Williamsport before working at Aif's Distributing in Canton for 17 years.
Coyce was blessed with a witty and outgoing personality; always ready with a friendly smile. He was an avid outdoorsman especially enjoying hunting and target shooting. Coyce also was an accomplished woodworker who could reproduce most anything from sight. He also crafted many beautiful pieces.
In addition to his parents, Eddie and Janice of Ogdensburg, surviving is his beloved wife of 29 years, Denise; a son, Jason (Kelsey) Hicks of Roaring Branch; two sisters, Barbara (Robert) Edwards and Ginger Hicks all of Jersey Shore; three grandchildren, Austyn, Zoey and Aliviajo, many nieces, nephews and cousins; special friends, Aif and Ellen DeKnecht of Canton and many dear friends. He also leaves his devoted pets; Greta, Duke, Ollie, Spazzy and Bear.
He was predeceased by his brother, Glen Hicks.
Family invites friends to call 12 - 1 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 27, at Pepper Funeral Home 578 Springbrook Dr. Canton. A memorial servicewill follow at 1 p.m. with Pastor Will Strunk officiating and Coyce's father, Rev. Eddie Hicks assisting. In lieu of flowers, consider a memorial to the Animal Care Sanctuary, Sanctuary Hill Lane, East Smithfield, PA 18817or to Susquehanna Health Cancer Center Foundation, 1100 Grampian Blvd. Williamsport, PA 17701.
