Cynthia L. (Hartzig) Preston, 65, of Canton, widow of Donald Preston Sr, passed away on Tuesday, March 18, 2025, at the Robert Packer Hospital in Sayre. Cynthia Linn was born December 2, 1959, in Troy. She was the daughter of the late Elljay Sr. and Jean (Parker) Hartzig. She attended Canton Area Schools and was a graduate of the class of 1978. Cindy was employed at Shop Vac in Canton until its closure. Later, she served as a nurse's aide at the Bradford County Manor for several years until her retirement.  She was a member of Outreach Church in Canton and a life member of Canton's Women of the Moose.

Cindy enjoyed having coffee at the house while visiting with friends. Crocheting, puzzles and watching WWE wrestling were always favorite past times. She loved the outdoors, especially cooking out. Being around kids and taking care of them held a special place in her heart.

She is survived by her children; Allen Preston (Jessica Mosher) and Donnie Preston Jr., Marshall J. Preston (Miranda Williams), grandchildren, great grandchildren, sister; Penny Watkins, brothers; Elljay Jr (Karen) Hartzig and Tim Hartzig, as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins and close friends.

Besides her parents and husband, Cynthia was predeceased by a brother-in-law; Matt Watkins.

A time of visitation will be held on Monday, March 24, 2025, from Noon to 1 P.M. at Pepper Funeral Home and Cremation Facility, 578 Springbrook Drive in Canton. A funeral service will follow at 1 P.M. with burial in East Canton Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, please consider a memorial donation in Cindy's name to a local SPCA of your choice.
