Obituary

Deborah Innes, 56, of Canton, PA passed away Wednesday evening, February 8, 2017 at Towanda Memorial Hospital's Skilled Nursing Unit.

Born in Canton on July 25, 1960, Deborah L. "Debi" Wilston was the daughter of the late Jack L. Wilston and Dolores Jane (Roby) Wilston of Towanda Skilled Nursing and formerly of Canton.After graduating from Canton High School, Debi received an Associates degree in Horticulture from the former Williamsport Area Community College.She married Stephen M. Innes on February 14, 1981 at St. Michael's Catholic Church in Canton. In addition to being a homemaker, in earlier years Debi worked with the kitchen staff of the former White Tavern Restaurant.Later she was employed by Penn Dot.Debi was a life-time member of Canton's V.F.W. Post 714 Auxiliary and life-time member of the New York State Pony Pulling Association. Times spent with family were very important to Debi.She found her calling while helping dad with his pulling ponies.Father Jack passed that chain of command on to her and Debi passed it on to son Casey. One could usually find the Innes family training their ponies and they traveled to several state and local fairs to compete in pulling events.Debi cared about all animals and especially loved her three beagles.She also enjoyed reading mystery stories and crocheting.All the kids that were friends with her son Casey called her "Mom".

In addition to her mother Jane, surviving is her husband Steve, her son Casey, three aunts; Lucille Greene, Donna Greene and Robena Moore, three brothers-in-law and a sister-in-law; Jon (Judy) Innes, Tom (Karen) Innes, Ben (Kathy) Innes, Barbara Innes and many extended family.Also her special family including Brock Campbell, Autumn Tice and Kris Ishler.Her best friend Andrea Herlocher, daughter Jade, son Brendon and boyfriend Jonny.

She was predeceased by her father Jack on June 20, 2004, seven aunts and uncles; Doris Wilston Williams, Pauline Wilston Cole, Henrietta Roby Vermilya, Stanley and Donald Wilston, Paul "Jr" and John Roby and a brother-in-law, Jerry Innes.

As per Debi's wishes, there are no public services.Those who wish may consider a memorial to the Bradford County Humane Society, P.O. Box 179 Ulster, PA 18850 or the American Cancer Society, 1948 E.
