Obituary

Delores A. Lewis, 74, of Troy, passed away peacefully at her residence at Martha Lloyd, on Sunday, January 11, 2026. Delores was born February 12, 1951, a daughter of the late Darold and Ameilia (Parker) Lewis. She attended Williamson High School and was a graduate of the class of 1972. Delores worked at Partners in Progress for several years.

Delores filled her days with simple joys and the people and pets she loved most. One of the greatest loves of her life was her canine companion, Bella. Even after Bella passed, she remained a treasured part of Dee's heart, and the bond they shared brought her comfort, laughter, and companionship for many years. Her love for animals ran deep, and she had a soft spot for every creature that crossed her path. Delores had a sparkle about her, reflected in her love for jewelry, getting her nails and hair done, and dressing up for holidays, especially Halloween, where she loved handing out candy to the neighborhood kids. She adored the color blue, a shade that matched her calm warmth and the brightness she brought into every room. Spunky, feisty, and strong‑willed in the best way, she never hesitated to tell it like it was. Her honesty, humor, and bold spirit made her unforgettable. Dee loved her coffee and a good gossip session, and she was a great friend to many. She had a playful spirit and a competitive streak that made every card game, bingo night, or friendly challenge something to remember. Delores found peace in the outdoors, especially camping, where her favorite job was gathering sticks for  the campfire. She loved the freedom of driving golf carts, the excitement of hockey games, and the thrill of the rodeos at Kinner Hill near Corning. Going out to eat and enjoying a wine cooler were simple pleasures she savored. Creative at heart, she spent many happy hours coloring and making arts and crafts. Family time meant everything to her. She lit up when the kids came around, and those moments were among her most cherished. Her life was woven with laughter, warmth, and the small traditions that made her who she was. Delores will be remembered for her vibrant spirit, her loyalty, her love of fun, and the joy she brought to everyone that was lucky enough to know her.

Surviving Delores are her special friends and caregivers; Carrie Robinson, Dylan Robinson, Janice Risley-Smith as well as many more at Martha Lloyd.

Besides her parents, Delores was predeceased by her beloved dog Bella.
