Diane G. Evans, 72, of Canton, PA and formerly of San Jose, CA passed away at home while surrounded by her family on Friday morning, September 7, 2012.

Born on December 14, 1939 in San Jose, Diane was the only child of the late August and Dorothy (McDade) Anthenien. After James Lick High School, she graduated from San Jose City College. Diane worked for many years as a secretary for the Superior Court of Santa Clara County.

After retiring in 2005, she moved to Canton to be near her family. Diane was of the Catholic faith and enjoyed attending Canton's St. Michael's Church and St. Julie's Church in San Jose. Diane loved all animals, especially dogs. She also enjoyed growing houseplants and flowers, reading and word search books.

Surviving are her son and daughter-in-law, Errol and Becky (Hipple) Evans; two grandchildren, Jennifer N. Mills of San Jose, CA and Heather L. Evans of Fairfield, CA and her devoted canine friend and companion, Brandi.

She was predeceased by her son's father, Kenneth L. Evans in 1997.

A Memorial Mass will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 15, at St. Michael's Catholic Church in Canton.
