Dolores M. (Kimmel) Smith, 95, of Canton, passed away peacefully at her home on Monday, September 7, 2026, surrounded by her loving family. Born on August 29, 1931, in Gordon, PA, she was the daughter of the late Monroe and Doris (Renner) Kimmel. She was a graduate of Ashland High School and the devoted wife of William D. Smith, who preceded her in death in 2001.

Dolores loved anything that made her think, from game shows to crossword puzzles and jigsaw puzzles, always keeping herself busy. She enjoyed helping to cook, and making Christmas cookies that became a tradition everyone looked forward to. More than anything, Dolores valued her family, and any time spent with them was the part of life she held closest

Dolores leaves behind her children; Robert (Chaleaw) Boehmer of Williamsport, Lori (John) Beach of Canton and Christopher (Melanie) Boehmer of South Williamsport as well as numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Besides her parents and husband, William, Dolores was predeceased by a daughter; Sandra McCloskey and her siblings; Monroe and John Kimmel.

A graveside service to honor the life of Dolores will be held at 10 a.m. on Friday, September 11, 2026, at the Wildwood Cemetery, 91 Cemetery Road, Williamsport, PA 17701. Pepper Funeral Home and Cremation Facility, 578 Springbrook Drive in Canton is assisting the family with arrangements.
