Edward F. Himsworth, 86, of Shunk, passed away on Saturday, April 12, 2025, at the Robert Packer Hospital in Sayre. Edward Francis was born July 26, 1938, in Philadelphia, a son to the late Francis "Frank" and Mary (Lynsky) Himsworth. He attended Germantown High School and was a graduate of the class of 1955. After graduation Ed enlisted into the United States Navy where he proudly served our country for nearly 4 years. He was employed at the Philadelphia Community College for 27 years until his retirement.

Ed loved his home in Shunk and the beauty of Sullivan County. Traveling the world was something he truly enjoyed. Animals held a very special place in Ed's heart. He was a very knowledgeable sports enthusiast and watched all sports.

Surviving Ed are his nephews; Gary Sr. (Paula) Gable and John (Kathy) Gable, great nephew; Gary Gable Jr. and a great niece; Sabrina Gable.

Besides his parents, Ed was predeceased by his sisters; Jeanne Gable and Joanne Himsworth.

A Funeral Mass will be 10 a.m., Saturday June 7, 2025, at the St. Michael's Roman Catholic Church in Canton. There will be no calling hours and burial will be at his family's cemetery in Philadelphia at the convenience of the family. Pepper Funeral Home and Cremation Facility, 578 Springbrook Drive in Canton is assisting the family with arrangements.
