(Palmer) Storrs

Elizabeth A. (Palmer) Storrs, 89, of Canton, passed away on Saturday, April 4, 2026, at Twin Oaks Personal Care home in Granville Summit. Elizabeth Anna was born March 13, 1937, in Elmira, NY, a daughter of the late Paul and Elizabeth (Janowsky) Palmer. Betsy, as known by her family and friends, attended Troy area schools and was a graduate of the class of 1955. She was a candy striper at the Troy Hospital and went on to earn her diploma from the Post graduate Hospital School of Nursing as a trained Practical Nurse.
Betsy founded and was proprietor of the former Sears Catalog Store in Canton for many years before moving to Berks County, PA. There she obtained her real estate license and owned and operated her own restaurant. Later she took a position working for a Sears retail store until her retirement in 1999.
Surviving Besty are her sons; Randy (Helene) Storrs of Trucksville, PA, and Rick (Terri) Storrs of Baton Rouge, LA, a daughter; Darlene (Randy) Castle of Canton, PA, bonus son; David Brey of Birdsboro, PA, grandchildren; Chirstine Barstow, Ryan Storrs, Bret Storrs, Chad Franklin, Jennifer Beamer, Christi Welch, Stacy Bevan, Trisha Castle and Niki Marbaker, several great grandchildren and a special niece; Jackie (Tony) DelNegro.
Besides her parents, Besty was predeceased by a sister and brother-in-law; Joyce (Jack) Riley, mother-in-law; Alice Storrs, daughter-in-law; Beth Storrs and her partner of 46 years Daniel Brey Jr.
The family wishes to thank Marsha Pepper and her amazing staff at Twin Oaks Personal Care Home and Guthrie Hospice for their love and compassion in taking such wonderful care of their mom and grandmother.
In keeping with Betsy’s wishes there will be no services. Pepper Funeral home and Cremation Facility, 578 Springbrook Drive in Canton is assisting the family with arrangements. Memories of Besty and condolences to her family may be shared at www.pepperfuneralhomes.com.
