Elizabeth K. Vanderpool, 70, of Towanda, passed away on Saturday, July 15, 2023, at the Robert Packer Hospital in Sayre. Elizabeth Kelley was born June 23, 1953 in Sayre, a daughter to the late Carl and Ida (Camp) Kelley and was raised by her foster parents the late Hugh and Margaret (Hibbard) Northrup.

She attended Towanda Area Schools. Beth, as known by most, was employed as a care giver for several years until declining health no longer permitted her to continue. She was a devout Christian and possessed a strong faith.

Beth enjoyed crafting, gardening and had a green thumb. She was a very social individual. Beth always enjoyed meeting new people and especially learning and experiencing things first handed.

Surviving are her, children; Nathan Schoonover of Colley, Jason (Margie) Schoonover of Athens and Jill (Kevin) Watts of Kathleen, Ga., grandchildren; Corey, Caitlyn, Samantha, Makaila and Braden, great-grandchildren; Haley and Madison, husband of 25 years, Donald Vanderpool, the father of her children, John Schoonover, siblings, Karen Lewis, George Kelley, Carol Jake, foster siblings, Fred Ackley and Pauline Hutchinson, as well as several nieces, nephews, cousins and her faithful canine companion, Skittles.

Elizabeth was predeceased by her biological and foster parents and several siblings.

In keeping with Beth's wishes services will be private and held at the convenience of the family.
