Eva Marie Fitzwater (nee Moyer), 68, of Canton, PA, passed away unexpectedly on April 11, 2018 at Guthrie Robert Packer Hospital in Sayre with family members at her bedside. She had recently begun treatment for Hairy Cell Leukemia, a rare form of cancer that she had successfully battled ten years ago.

Eva is survived by her daughter, Heather Katona (Ken) and granddaughters; Evelyn, Nina and Adriane, as well as her siblings; Ellie Marsh of Athens, Shirleen Dorman (Tom) of Ocean Grove, NJ, and Miller H. Moyer, who resides in Canton, nieces and nephews include, Jennifer Vi Moody, Sarah Bradley, Leslie Sardinas, Leah Dorman, John Marsh, Kaylee Moyer as well as several great nieces and nephews.

She was the daughter of the late Canton High School teacher and Pennsylvania Football Hall of Famer, Miller A. Moyer and his wife Viola (nee Small). As such, Eva was a Warrior's fan and had been an avid supporter of her granddaughters' sports teams and all their school activities. Family always came first in Eva's life. She will be lovingly remembered for her kindness and giving nature; she would do for others before herself.

Before beginning her latest round of chemo, Eva had been looking forward to traveling to the spring softball competitions.

Eva was born January 5, 1950 in Jersey Shore, PA and in June, 1960 the Moyer family moved to Canton. After graduating from Canton High School in 1968, she attended Williamsport Area Community College, where she earned her Associates degree in Secretarial Science in 1971. Eva was initially employed with Tennessee Gas Pipeline in Troy and later with Canton Manufacturing.

In keeping with Eva's wishes, there will be no public services. Pepper Funeral Home and Cremation Facility, 578 Springbrook Dr. in Canton is assisting her family with arrangements.
