"Bonnie" Card
November 18, 1938 – January 6, 2025
Evangeline Bergquist Card "Bonnie", 86, of Blackwell, passed away Monday, January 6, 2025 at Newton Hospital in NJ, while staying with her daughter. Born November 18, 1938, in the family home on West Union Street, Canton, she was the sixth child of the late Daniel Nels and Bernice Irene (Phinney) Bergquist.
Bonnie graduated from Canton High School in 1957 and was a majorette for the school team. She married George C. Card on September 21, 1957. They were married for 49 years, until his death, and raised two sons and a daughter. Bonnie worked many years for PA hospitals including the old Troy Hospital, Evangelical in Lewisburg, Divine Providence and lastly, Williamsport Hospital as an operating room technician, retiring after many years. Bonnie enjoyed embroidery, Rummy, puzzles, Netflix and mahjong on her tablet. Not a fan of the great outdoors, she preferred to stay cozy and warm inside to read books, as well as her morning paper along with her eggs and sausage each morning. She even learned to love dogs, while spending time with Kira, Fern, Poncho, and Ulrich.
In addition to her parents, Bonnie's siblings and spouses, Ruth Ward (William), Doris Koehler (Raymond), Daniel Bergquist (Sue, and also Jane), MaryLou Wheeler (Scott), Nancy Bergquist, William Bergquist "Billy John" (Claudia), and her daughter in law, Wanda Evelhair Card, have sadly all predeceased her.
Bonnie is survived by her children, David Card (Carol West), Robin Henderson (Lawrence), Timothy Card (Debra), her grandchildren, Jennifer Schorner (Matthew), Patrick Henderson, Jason Card (Vanessa), Timothy Card (Margaret), Kyle Henderson (Kelsey), Natasha Card (Seth Young), David Card, Angela Card, and Travis Henderson (Samantha), her great grandchildren, Marlow, Davis, Rowan, Harlow, Sawyer, Rory, and soon to be baby Willow, step grandchildren and step great grandchildren, Amanda Berrier (Jesse), Olivia & Hudson Berrier, Jenna Evelhair, as well as an sister-in-law, Joan Foley and many loving nieces and nephews.
The family thanks the local doctors and extremely caring staff at Newton Hospital for their compassion and assistance. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Blackwell Community Church Preservation Association, and sent to Treasurer, Mary Jane Sutley, 78 Gristmill Lane, Morris, PA 16938.
A time of visitation will be held at Pepper Funeral Home, 578 Springbrook Drive, Canton, PA on Saturday, January 18, 2025, from 11 A.M. to 1 P.M with a service following. Interment will be in the Windfall Cemetery, Granville Summit, PA, followed by a luncheon at VFW, 28 Troy Street, Canton, PA.
