June 28, 1944 – January 28, 2022
Evangelist Gary L Kendall, Sr. finished his journey and earned his reward January 28th, 2022. After many years of battling diabetes and its many side effects the Lord called him home. He spent most of his life doing what he loved most, preaching and taking care of his family and friends. He served churches in Tennessee, Kentucky, New York, Pennsylvania, Ohio, and finished his ministry in Elkins, WV. He is survived by his wife of 41 years, Etta Jean, and his four sons: Gary L Kendall Jr of London Ohio, William R Kendall of Scio Ohio, Thom F. Kendall of Fairmont, WV, and Clark D. Kendall of Fairmont WV. One grandson, Adam Kendall of North Lawrence, Ohio, three great grandchildren, Allyssa, Rylee, and Dexter, one brother Carroll D Kendall of Canton Ohio, and one sister Karen K Kendall of Elkins, WV as well as many cousins and friends across many states survive him. Gary was born on June 28th, 1944, to Frederick and Geneva Kendall in Canton Ohio. He graduated from Johnson Bible College in Knoxville, TN in 1976 with a BA in preaching and a minor in Greek. He continued his education at Louisville Christian College as he sought his masters in preaching. He lived a long, full life with laughter and love. He will be sorely missed, but we know he's in a much better place.
A host of family and friends calledfrom 12:00 noon until 1:00 pm Thursday, February 3, 2022, at the First Church of Christ in Elkins, WV with services following with Preaching Minister Jason Brandon officiating.
A graveside service to celebrate his travel into our Lord's eternity was heldat 2:00 pm Friday, February 11, 2022, at the Beech Flats Cemetery with Pastor's Gary's brother-in-law,Evangelist Eric D. Smith as celebrant. Local arrangements were under the direction of Pepper Funeral Home and Cremation Facility, 578 Springbrook Drive, Canton.
