Genevieve A. (Tunnicliff) Johnston, 87, of Canton, passed away at her residence on Wednesday, November 6, 2024, while surrounded by her loving family. Genevieve Adelle was born April 11, 1937, in Sayre, a daughter of the late Ivan and Ethel (Bowers) Tunnicliff. Jenny, as known by many, attended Troy area schools. On April 19, 2003, Genevieve married Glenn Johnston in the Granville Center Church. Together they shared 21 years of loving marriage.
Jenny loved playing marbles and cards, especially horse and pepper. Most important was any time she spent with her family.
Genevieve leaves behind her husband, Glenn, at home, sons; Willam (Betty) Johnston of Leicester, NC, Robert (Terry) Johnston of Okeechobee, FL, Rodney Johnston of Okeechobee, FL, Danny (Kim) Johnston of Sebring, FL, John (Mindy) Johnston of Corning, OH and Kevin (Carol) Johnston of Okeechobee, FL, daughters; Vickie (Douglas) Wilber Of Canton and Wendy (Joe) Cooper of Okeechobee, FL, stepchildren; Glenda (Ricky) Beadnell of Canton, Glenn Jr. (Joyce) Johnston and Gregory (LJ) Johnston all of Maryanna, FL, several grandchildren and great grandchildren who lovingly called her "Grandma Sugar", as well as numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Besides her parents, Jenny was predeceased by her siblings. She was the last surviving child of Ivan and Ethel.
In keeping with Jenny's wishes there will be no services. Burial will be private in the Granville Center Cemetery and held at the convenience of the family. Pepper Funeral Home and Cremation Facility, 578 Springbrook Drive in Canton is assisting the family with arrangements. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Jenny's name may be directed to the Lighthouse of Faith Church, 125 E. Main Street, Canton, PA 17724.
