October 7, 1946 – August 29, 2024
Glen Ragan, 77, lifelong resident of the Ogdensburg, PA area, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, August 29, 2024, at the UPMC Williamsport Hospital while surrounded by his family. Glen Ted Ragan was born October 7, 1946, near Gleason, PA (Union Township, Tioga County); he was a son of the late Ted and Edna (Miller) Ragan. He attended Canton Area Schools and on June 27, 1964, he married the love of his life, the former Nona Gail Keltz. Together they celebrated 60 years of loving marriage and raised a son and a daughter.
Glen was employed for over 40 years at Towanda's Masonite until his retirement in 2009. He was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed, hunting, fishing, gardening and just sitting on the porch with Nona Gail enjoying nature. Glen also possessed many hobbies Including, wood working, carpentry, word puzzles, country music and watching TV's Hee-Haw and the Pennsylvania Polka programs. Most important to Glen was the love and care he felt for his family.
Glen leaves behind his wife, Nona Gail at home, daughter, Paula (Michael) Neal of Liberty, grandchildren, Travis Neal of Liberty, Alane (Dylan) Giebner of Canton, great grandchildren, Lincoln and Reagan Giebner, siblings Randy Ragan, Dave (Cheryl) Ragan, Rita Ragan, Paul "Mooch" Ragan, a sister-in-law, Lucille Ragan as well as several nieces, nephews, cousins, dear neighbors and friends.
Besides his parents, Glen was predeceased by a beloved son, Michael "Chopper" Ragan, siblings, Gloria Wilcox, Howard Ragan, Lois (Paul) Harold and a nephew, Ronnie Ragan.
Visitation will be 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., Wednesday, September 4, 2024, at Pepper Funeral Home and Cremation Facility, 578 Springbrook Drive in Canton. Funeral services to honor Glen's life will immediately follow at 12:30 p.m. with Rev. Duane Taylor officiating. Burial will be in Ogdensburg Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Mr. Ragan's name may be directed to the Ogdensburg Cemetery Association, 13180 Rt. 414 or the N. Union Church of Christ, 15520 Rt. 414 both of Canton, PA 17724.
