Obituary



Ivan Lutz, 74, of Towanda, PA formerly of Spring City, PA, passed away on Thursday morning, December 13, 2018 at the Robert Packer Hospital in Sayre.



Ivan Clayton Lutz was born July 8, 1944 in Towanda, PA, a son of the late Elmer and Olive (Quick) Lutz. After graduating from Troy High School in 1962, he served our country during the Vietnam War as a Sergeant in the U.S. Army. On July 17,1970, Ivan married the former Elizabeth "Betty" Lytle in Graterford, PA. Ivan enjoyed his career's work in the construction trades and was an accomplished stone mason and brick layer. He loved reading and was an avid outdoorsman, especially hunting and fishing. In earlier years, Ivan was very active in 4-H with his children; participating in many shows at area fairs.



Surviving is Betty, his devoted wife of 48 years, three children; Ivan Brent (Jennifer) Lutz and Cheryl Lutz all of Spring City and Adam (Chelsea) Lutz of Myerstown, three grandchildren; Amber, Ryan and Clayton, four siblings; Elma Manahan of Towanda, JoAnn (Robert) Gray of Carlyle, Juanita (Donald) Williams of Towanda and Nathan Lutz of Gregory, numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by a brother, Oliver (Elizabeth) Lutz.



Calling hours are 10 – 11 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 18, at Pepper Funeral Home and Cremation Facility, 578 Springbrook Dr. in Canton. Pastor Lyndon Lundy will officiate the memorial service at 11 a.m. A private burial will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, consider a memorial in Ivan's name to a charity of one's choice.
