James "Jim" Gross Sr., 92, of Columbia Cross Roads, passed away peacefully on Sunday, September 8, 2024, at his residence. Jim was born November 4, 1931, in Croydon, PA., one of seven children of the late Joe and Ethel (Denney) Gross. Jim lived in various cities and states before he eventually made a home and business for himself at the Lazy G Riding Stables on Yankee Road in Quakertown, PA. Over the years he lived a colorful life which included sharing years with his first wife Terry, his second wife Carol and his significant other Judy.
Jim Found his way to Columbia Cross Roads after retiring from the horse business and picked up flea marketing to stay active in what he loved most in the world, "the people business!" Jim was b=never a stranger to a great conversation and he had a story for every occasion.
Jim was the father to nine children; James Jr., Fred, Joe (Kathy), Natalie (Rich) Kutt, Kelly, John (Nicole), Eric Smith, Nicole (Mark) Smith and Jamie (Jeremy) Moyer, a loving grandfather to 24 grandkids and great grandfather to 15 great grandkids.
A memorial service will be held at 3 P.M. on Friday, November 8, 2024, at the Trum, 1 E. Broad Street, Trumbauersville, PA, 18970, for all of his family and friends to gather and talk about the last of the great horseman! Pepper Funeral Home and Cremation Facility, 578 Springbrook Drive in Canton is assisting the family with arrangements.
