Warren
April 12, 1941 – June 12, 2025
James A. Warren, 84, beloved widower of Janet (Spencer) Warren, of Blossburg, PA, went to be with the Lord on June 12, 2025, unexpectedly at his home.
James was born on April 12, 1941, in Blossburg, he was the only son of the late James D. and Frances Warren.
He graduated from Blossburg's North Penn High School and later earned a B.S. degree in Education at Mansfield State College. Mr. Warren taught history at the North Penn School District and served as a popular basketball coach for many years until his retirement. In 1990, he was honored to be accepted in the Tioga County Sportsman's Hall of Fame for his coaching talents.
Later in his life, he worked as a greeter for several years at Walmart in Mansfield.
Jimmy was a very likeable man who was well known throughout the community especially by his former students and many friends.
He was a talented golfer and bowler. Jim's an avid fan of Norte Dame sports and the Boston Celtics.
He is a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Blossburg and in earlier years Mr. Warren was active in the former St. Andrew's Catholic Church.
Survived by his, brother-in-law, Marvin (Sherry) Spencer of Alba, sisters-in-law, Rhonda Spencer of Sharon, MA, Kelly (Chris) Nickle of Carlisle, PA, nieces, Lily and Mia Spencer both of Boston, MA, nephews, Kevin (Michele) Spencer of Hummelstown, PA, Keith (Heidi) Spencer of State College, PA, Nickle of Carlisle, PA as well as, grandnieces and grandnephews.
Besides his parents and wife Janet of 48 years, he was predeceased by a brother-in-law, Tim Spencer.
Maintaining Jim's wishes there will be no calling hours. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 11 a.m. Saturday, June 21, 2025, at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Blossburg. Burial will follow in St. Andrew's Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials in James Warren's memory may be directed to Blossburg Library, 307 Main St, Blossburg, PA 16912
