(Bogaczyk) Mahonski
October 19, 1934 – November 20, 2024
Jane Mahonski, 90, Beloved widow of Arthur Mahonski, of Blossburg, passed away peacefully at the Green Home in Wellsboro early Tuesday morning November 20, 2024. Jane Marie Bogaczyk was born on October 19, 1934; a daughter to the late Charles and Genevieve (Boinski) Bogaczyk.
Janie, as she was loving known by many, was an active and devoted member of the St. Mary's Catholic Church in Blossburg. She and Art enjoyed gardening, being outdoors sitting on the porch watching the birds come to their feeders. Jane worked as a well-respected community hairdresser for over 30 years until her retirement in 1995. A job she gained numerous friendships and took tremendous pride in.
Jane leaves behind her children, Steven (Teri) Mahonski of Endicott, NY, Sandra (John) White of North Carolina, Nancy Derr of Owego, NY and Anthony (Holly) Mahonski of Apalachian, NY, grandchildren; Sarah, Kelsey, Dominick, Nicolette, Danielle and Natalie, great grandchildren; Reagan, Camilla and August several special nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends
Besides her parents, Jane was predeceased by husband Art on June 15, 2018, and a sister, Melanie Bogaczyk.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Monday November 25, 2024, at 11 a.m., at St. Mary's Czestochowa Catholic Church in Blossburg. Maintaining Jane's wishes, there will be no viewing or visitation services. Burial will follow the Mass in the Parish Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Jane M. Mahonski's name may be directed to; St Jude's Children's Research Hospital, 387 E. South St. Wilkes Barre, PA 18702, Blossburg Memorial Library, 307 Main St. Blossburg, PA 16912, Good Samaritans Society, C/O Holy Child Parish, 237 S. Main St. Mansfield, PA 16933, or to a local Humane Society of your choice.
