Jason R. Johnson, 64, of Horseheads, New York, and formerly of the Troy area, passed away on Saturday, January 27, 2024, at the Chemung County Nursing Facility in Elmira following a period of declining health. Jason was born August 25, 1959, in Elizabeth, New Jersey, a son to the late Harry and Sharon (Fitch) Coxhead. Jason joined the United States Army on January 10, 1977 and received his honorable discharge on May 22, 1978.

Jason leaves behind children; Tiffany and Jason and their children, three siblings as well as nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Besides his parents, Jason was predeceased by his wife Sally Johnson.

A private burial will be held in the Woodlawn National Cemetery in Elmira at the convenience of the family. Pepper Funeral Home and Cremation Facility, 578 Springbrook Drive in Canton is assisting the family with arrangements.
