Jay P. Myer, 73, of Ogdensburg, passed away on Friday, January 17, 2025. Jay Paul was born April 10, 1951, in Lancaster, a son of the late Paul and Ruth (Hess) Myer. Jay graduated from Solanco High School in Lancaster County. On October 18, 1969, Jay married his soulmate, the former Nellene Wimer. Together they shared 55 years of marriage and raised two sons. The couple resided in Lancaster until 1993, then moved to Ogdensburg where they started their farm. Jay was a member of the Ogdensburg Church of Christ.
Jay was a true outdoorsman, enjoying hunting, riding four wheelers and snowmobiles. He was a hard-working man who loved his lord.
Jay leaves behind his wife; Nellene, sons; Anthony (Shelly) Myer and Richie (Stacy) Myer, grandchildren; Renee (Adam) Duke, Kian Myer, Hannah Myer, Courtney (Andrew) Eshelman and Gage Myer, eight great-grandchildren, siblings; Naomi (Larry) Davis, David (Betty) Myer and Rhoda (Howard) Smoker as well as numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Jay was predeceased by his parents.
A celebration of Jay's life will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, January 25, 2025, at North Street Church, 177 North Street, Canton, Pa 17724. Pepper Funeral Home and Cremation Facility, 578 Springbrook Drive in Canton is assisting the family with arrangements. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Jay's name may be directed to Samaritan's Purse, PO Box 3000, Boone, NC 28607.
