(Steinback) Brannaka
September 24, 1932 – March 24, 2023
Jeanetta "Jimmie" Brannaka, 90, of Trout Run, PA (Lewis Twp.) passed away peacefully, Friday evening, March 24, 2023, at her home while surrounded by loving family. Born on September 24, 1932, in her home in Calvert, Lycoming County. She was the only daughter of eight children born to the late George and Violet (Smith) Steinback.
Jimmie, as she was known, was a 1950 graduate of Montoursville High School. On May 2, 1954, she married Charles Brannaka in Calvert. Together they raised six children and established their family's business, Brannaka's Garage and Excavating until retiring following 43 years as Charlie's office manager. Jeanetta also worked for Sylvania prior to marriage and later was a long-time secretary for Lewis Twp. as well as secretary/treasurer for Pennsdale Cemetery Association. She loved the outdoors, gardening, tending to her flowers and mowing yard on her Kubota mowing tractor. Jeanetta maintained multiple bird feeding stations on her porch, serving a wide variety of birds. She was an avid reader and truly enjoyed listening to audiobooks. Very special times were spent with her many beloved grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Surviving are her children; Wesley (Cindy) Brannaka of Roaring Branch, Sue Ann Huston of Trout Run, Judy (Jim) Cronin of Greer, SC, Mary Lou (Dion) Coleman, Dave (Marilyn) Seeling all of Trout Run, 14 grandchildren, 28 great grandchildren (with another pending), two siblings; Guy Steinback of Montgomery, Darrel (Dot) Steinback of Williamsport. Besides her husband of 61 years, Charlie, she was predeceased by a daughter, Billie Jo Cuozzo and five brothers.
Family will receive friends 9:30 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. Saturday, April 1, 2023, at the Pepper Funeral Home, 578 Springbrook Drive in Canton. A memorial service to celebrate Jeanetta's life will follow at 11 a.m. with Rev. Herbert Eby officiating. A private burial will be held in Pennsdale Cemetery, Lewis Township at the convenience of the family.
