John C. Morgan, 88, of Ulster, passed away on Friday, March 1, 2024, at Darway Healthcare and Rehabilitation. John Calvin was born July 23, 1935, in his family home in Wheelerville, PA. He was one of 15 children born to the late William and Belle (Brown) Morgan. He attended Sullivan County High School until he enlisted into the United States Marine Corps, where he proudly served his country for a year during the Korean War. Following his honorable discharge, he finished his senior year and graduated with the class of 1954. John then went on to Williamsport Technical School where he studied the taxidermy field. On June 4, 1955, John married his soulmate, the former Beverly Quail at her family's farm in Shunk. Together they shared 68 years of loving marriage and raised 3 sons.
John was an outdoors enthusiast, enjoying hunting and fishing. He also liked woodworking. In his later years he loved to sit and watch the wildlife and go for long walks in nature's beauty.
Surviving John are his wife Beverly, at home, sons; Nathan (Linda) Morgan of Ulster, Alvin (Sharon) Morgan of Ridgebury and Brian (Tammy) Morgan of Ulster, grandchildren; David Morgan of New Jersey, Pam Morgan, Jeremy Morgan and Marie and Elizabeth Morgan all of Ulster, great grandson; Parker Morgan, brother; Dale Morgan of Alabama and a sister; Josephine Lewis of Hillsgrove.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his siblings and their spouses, Doris (Dean) Rathbun, Norma (Richard) Lodge, Frank (Thelma) Morgan, Lyle (Florence) Morgan, Dorothy Kipp, Madeline (Charles) Kilmer, Esther (Gail) Clisso, Melvin (Joyce) Morgan, Martin (Lola) Morgan, Vance Morgan and Stanley Morgan.
A graveside service with military honors accorded will be announced at a later date. Pepper Funeral Home and Cremation Facility, 578 Springbrook Drive in Canton is assisting the family with arrangements.
