June 10, 1926 – May 21, 2024
June (Kelley) Ross, of Alba, PA passed away peacefully on May 21, 2024, at Robert Packer Towanda Skilled Nursing at the age of 97. Her daughter Sharon Spencer and daughter in law, Judy Ross were present and holding her hand. She was born on June 10, 1926, in Franklin Township, PA to Harry and Mildred (Schrader) Kelley. June was the only girl of 4 boys, Harry Jr., Joe, Jack and Jim. She was a standout at Troy Area High School serving in many roles and activities. During WWII she worked at the Blue Swan in Sayre, PA. A true Rosie the Riveter.
On May 25, 1945, June married Russell Ross of Burlington, PA. Together they shared 50 years of loving marriage before Russell's passing and welcomed three children; Sharon Spencer (Marvin) of Alba, Harry Russell (Jude) of Meshoppen and Robyn Sloan (Jim) of Highland Village, TX.
June was very active in the Burlington community to include the Burlington United
Methodist Church and The Pomona Grange. She was employed by the Troy Area School District for many years before opening her own in-home Day Care where she poured into many children.
She is predeceased by her husband, parents, brothers, Harry Jr, Joe, Jack and son-in-law Jim. She was loved by her 3 children, 7 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren and 9 great great grandchildren.
A private, family service will be held at a later date. Burial will be at Bradford County Memorial Park where she will be alongside her husband Russell.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in June's name may be directed to macularhope.org. So many in her family have suffered with macular degeneration.
