IN LOVING MEMORY OF
L. Yvonne
(Blocher) Crimbring
September 1, 1939 – September 1, 2024
L. Yvonne (Blocher) Crimbring, of Canton Township, PA, passed away unexpectedly at home while surrounded by her loving family on Sunday afternoon, September 1, 2024. She was called to her heavenly home on her birthday at the age of 85 years old.
Lucretia Yvonne Blocher was born September 1, 1939, in Towanda; a daughter of the late M. Frederick and Josephine (Detrick) Blocher. She graduated from Towanda Area School with the class of 1957 and on June 20, 1959, Yvonne married the love of her life, Glenn Crimbring, in Towanda. Together they celebrated nearly 59 years together and raised three children before Glenn's passing on February 17, 2018.
She was an active member of the East Canton United Methodist Church where she oversaw the church's Share Program, as well as the Knits for Kids through World Vision, a program that knits sweaters to donate to children in need. Yvonne was a life-time member of the PA State Beekeeper's Association and served as Secretary/Treasurer for 42 years. She also served numerous years as Canton Township's Judge of Elections.
Yvonne loved animals, agriculture, and the family's farm was the focus of her life, but family always came first. She was her children's and grandchildren's biggest fan; always supporting their interests, activities and school sports. Yvonne also enjoyed playing cards, games and traveling with friends and family. She was an avid gardener who liked to birdwatch.
Surviving are three children; Debbie (Martin) Morse of Canton, Wade (fiancée Rosemarie Sanfilippo-Ellis) Crimbring of Texas and Betsy (J. Scott) May of Canton, six grandchildren; Karen (Brion) Jones, Fletcher (Miranda) Crimbring, Rachel (Jon) VerHow, Kristen (Paul) Kline, Brandon ( Fiancee Rachael High) May and Nick May, 17 great grandchildren, a brother, David (Helen) Blocher, several nieces, nephews, cousins, many friends and neighbors.
Besides her parents and husband Glenn, Yvonne was predeceased by a daughter-in-law, Angie Crimbring, sister-in-laws and brother-in-law; Lea Crimbring, Roberta (Florin) Harbach, Joan Blocher and Linda Atkins-Blocher.
The family invites friends to call 1p.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday September 28, 2024, at the East Canton United Methodist Church. A memorial service and celebration of Yvonne's life will immediately follow at 3 p.m. with Pastor Jen Jones officiating. Burial will be private in the Beech Flats Cemetery.
