Obituary

On January 2, 2024, Larry G. Ballard, 64, of Mountain Lake, was called home by his Lord and Savior, freeing him from his very long and courageous battle with cancer. Larry Gene was born December 4, 1959, a son of Ronald and the late Christine (Forcelli) Ballard. He attended Troy Area Schools and was a graduate of the class of 1978. Larry married the love of his life, the former Kimberly Kenyon on April 22, 1995. They spent 28 loving years together side by side. Over the years Larry worked at Penn-Troy Machine Company as a foreman and machine operator for 28 years and the Hilliard Corporation for 19 years. Both companies gave him so much support and he cherished being their employee.

Larry was a member of the Pinnacle Hook and Shell Club, the Monroeton Gun Club, and the Lighthouse of Faith Church.

Larry was an avid Miami Dolphins and Penn State football fan. He enjoyed fishing and watching NASCAR. Larry had many titles, dad, son, brother, husband, father, poppy, uncle, and best friend.  He also was known to many as LB, Ballard, the Man, the Myth, the Legend.  Larry was a hero; a god send and a true miracle. He is, was, and always will be a staple inspiration to his family, friends, co-workers and all who had the honor of meeting and knowing him. Larry's greatest joy in his life was his children and grandchildren, including his canine companions, all of whom he loved endlessly.

Larry leaves behind his father; Ronald Ballard, his wife Kimberly, children; Erick Ballard, Mellisa (Tim) Blasz, Shayne Ballard, Ben Krise and Sharla Krise (Dillion Westbrook), grandchildren; Isaiah, Haden and Savannah Ballard, Alaina Gay, Jaxson and Austin Blasz, Khloe Dieffenbach, Aubrey and Kolesyn Krise and Nikita and Jesse Westbrook, siblings; Peggi Munkittrick, Bettina (Earl) Campbell and Gary (Kelly)

Ballard, mother and father -in law; Carol (Donald) Ripley as well as several nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends.

Larry was predeceased by his mother Christine (Forcelli) Ballard, father-in-law Ralph L. Kenyon and his biggest fan and sidekick Blade, his dog.

A celebration of Larry's life will be announced at a later date. Memorial donations in Larry's name may be directed to Hope Lodge, 1120 South Goodman St., Rochester, NY  14620. This is where Larry and Kim stayed for all 14 years of his cancer journey and became a part of a large family of cancer patients, caregivers, and staff, or to Guthrie Hospice, 421 Tomahawk Road, Towanda, PA 18848.
