Lawrence Eugene was born November 23, 1938, a son of the late Sylvester and Adaline (Crayton) Stone. He attended Canton schools and was a graduate of the class of 1957. Shortly after graduation Larry, as know by most, joined the United States Army where he proudly served his country for 4 years. Larry served in several different areas, his favorite being Alaska, where he was stationed when it became a US state. In 1961 Larry met and fell in love with the former Dorothy Pratt. The couple got married on July 23, 1961, in her parents' dining room. Together they shared 62 years of loving marriage and raised four children. Larry was employed by the Towanda Coal Company for many years until its closure in 1972. He then worked at State Aggregates driving truck until finally batching concrete for over 30 years until his retirement.
Larry was a true outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting and fishing. Participating in garden tractor pulls was always a favorite past time. Camping with his family was some of his most treasured memories. Larrys family was his utmost importance, and he worked hard to provide for them.
