October 20, 1942 – February 24, 2019
Leo E. Shedden, 76 of Troy, Pa., passed away at home on Sunday morning February 24, 2019 while surrounded by his loving family following a long courageous battle with lung cancer. Leo Earl was born October 20, 1942 in Canton, Pa. and was a son of the late Lial and Norma (Foust) Shedden.
Leo was a 1960 graduate of Troy High School. After graduating he worked on his family's dairy farm and eventually went on to be self-employed as a carpenter until his retirement in 2013. He was always known to be a "jack of all trades" and an avid outdoorsman. He was a dedicated hunter and trapper and took eight black bears in his lifetime. Leo also enjoyed fishing and digging ginseng. On April 26, 1976 he married the former Sandra Mattocks in Troy, Pa, together sharing 42 years of loving marriage.
In addition to his wife Sandra, Leo is survived by six children; Cindy (Mike) Oldham of Fort Worth, Tx., Brad (Michael Dubberke) of Troy, Suzy (Larry) Smith of Tunkhannock, Bonnie Davis of Tunkhannock, Wade Shedden of Indiana and Sonja (Jason) Davy of Williamsport, three Siblings; Dale (Mertie) Shedden of Troy, Neil Shedden & Connie Avery both of Granville Summit, Claire Case of Troy, brothers-in-law, David (Gail) Mattocks and James Mattock, a sister-in-law, Sheila (Bob) Foulkrod, an Uncle, Joey (Ellen) Foust, an Aunt, Marie Foust all of Granville Summit., 10 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews c ousins and good friends, Darlene and Wayne Putnam of Troy.
Calling hours are 11 a.m. -1 p.m. Thursday Feb. 28, at Pepper Funeral Home & Cremation Facility, 578 Springbrook Dr., Canton, with the funeral service at 1 p.m.
Burial will follow in Windfall Cemetery. In Lieu of flowers please consider a donation to the Williamsport YMCA, 641 Walnut St., Williamsport, Pa 17701.
