Lloyd A. Carl Jr., 83, of Granville Summit, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, September 16, 2026, at Elderwood in Waverly, NY. Lloyd Adelbert was born December 11, 1942, in Canton, a son of the late Lloyd Sr. and Eva (Freeman) Carl. On May 19, 1962, Lloyd married his soulmate, the former Carole J. Fredrick in the East Troy Baptist Church. Together they shared 64 years of loving and devoted marriage and raised four children. Lloyd was employed by Valvair for 41 years until his retirement in 2005.

Lloyd had a passion for hunting and especially looked forward to the opening day of rabbit season each year. An avid outdoorsman, he enjoyed gardening, working in the yard, and appreciating all the beauty nature had to offer. Known for his ingenuity, Lloyd could build just about anything, even if his creations were sometimes a little makeshift. He and his son once built a rotisserie, and Lloyd was always happy to put some chicken on it and enjoy a good meal. Above all, family was most important to Lloyd, and he treasured every moment spent with those he loved.

Surviving Lloyd are his wife; Carole, at home, children; Brenda (Kevin) Hicks of Canton, Pamela Carl of Troy, Diane (Donald) Wright and Lloyd III (Lori) Carl all of Granville, seven grandchildren, five great grandchildren, siblings; Thomas (Ann) Carl of Leroy and Caroline Foulkrod of Columbia Cross Roads, as well as numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Besides his parents, Lloyd was predeceased by a brother-in-law; Ralph Foulkrod, mother-in-law and father-in-law; Arthur (Zelda) Frederick as well as several brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law.

A memorial service to honor Lloyd’s life will be announced at a later date. Burial will be private and held at the convenience of the family. Pepper Funeral Home and Cremation Facility, 578 Springbrook Drive in Canton is assisting the family with arrangements.
