Obituary

Loretta (Brown) Gustin, 96, of Towanda, former longtime resident of Troy, passed away on Monday, March 24, 2025, at the Towanda Personal Care Home. Loretta was born May 29, 1928, in the family home in Granville Summit, a daughter to the late John Sanford and Vivian (Duart) Brown. She graduated from Troy Area Schools and later attended Williamsport Area Community College where she obtained her Nursing Degree. On May 7, 1948, Loretta married Richard Gustin in the Presbyterian Church in Troy. Together they shared 68 years of loving marriage. Loretta was employed at the Guthrie Clinic in Troy for many years until her retirement.

Loretta enjoyed quilting, knitting, sewing, traveling and fishing. Loretta and Richard lived at Laurel Lake for nearly 20 years, a place that was near and dear to her heart.

Surviving Loretta are her children; Marjorie, Joan, Grant (Cindy), Kay (Mark), Gordon (Brenda)  and Laura, grandchildren; Geoffrey (Kaitlin), Ross (Julien), Jessa (Dan), Kally (Vincent), Kate (Cal), Richard, Lauren, Joshua (Heather), Rachel and Max, great grandchildren; Mia, Ella, Vincent, Olivia, Elaina and Oren as well as numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Besides her parents and husband Richard, Loretta was predeceased by her siblings, Virginia, Martha and Delbert.
