Obituary

Lucille (Harold) Ragan, 87, of Ogdensburg, PA passed away on Sunday, October 26, 2025, at Bradford Hills Nursing Home, Troy. Mary Lucille was born August 30, 1938, in Damascus, Virginia, a daughter of the late Roy and Mattie (Moretz) Harold. She attended Abingdon High School in Abingdon, Virginia and was a graduate of the class of 1956.

Lucille was always a hard worker and was employed by Wundies Incorporated in Liberty until its closure and then went on to work at Shop Vac until her retirement. She also worked at the Area Agency on Aging, taking care of her elderly neighbors and was a waitress at the former Just In Time restaurant near Canton. Lucille was a member of the Ogdensburg Church of Christ.

Lucille had a deep fondness for western TV shows and rarely missed a chance to watch them. Her green thumb was evident in the flourishing vegetable garden she tended and took great pride in preserving her harvest through canning and freezing. A gifted singer, Lucille, found joy in singing in her church choir. Above all, her heart belonged to her home and family, especially her beloved son Danny.

Lucille leaves behind her son; Danny Ragan of Ogdensburg, grandchildren; Chantel (Nick) Evertson of Troy, Gabriel (Alisha) Ragan of Weeki Wachee, Florida, and Zachary Ragan (Sydnee Pequignot) of Ogdensburg, great grandchildren; Olivia, Ava, Oaklee and Levii, as well as numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Besides her parents and husband, Howard, Lucille was predeceased by her son; Ronald Raymond Ragan, sibling; Paul Harold and Joanne Williams, father-in-law and mother-in-law, Ted and Edna Ragan, as well as two nephews and several brothers in law and sisters in law.

Visitation will be held on Friday, October 31, 2025, from 11 a.m. to Noon, at Pepper Funeral Home and Cremation Facility, 578 Springbrook Drive in Canton. A funeral service to honor Lucille's life will follow at Noon. Burial will be held in Ogdensburg Cemetery.
