Marilyn "Mazy" McClure, 74, of Columbia Cross Roads, passed away at her residence on Thursday, October 3, 2024.
Marilyn Mae McClure was born May 18, 1950, in Troy, a daughter of the late Philip and Marie (Teribury) McClure. She attended Lewisburg Area High School and was a graduate of the class of 1968. Following high school Marilyn went on to Lock Haven University where she earned her bachelor's degree in education in 1971. On January 15, 1999, Marilyn married John Schultheis in Annapolis, Maryland, together they shared 22 years of marriage until John's passing in 2021. Marilyn was employed as a librarian by West Nottingham Academy and most recently Cecil County public school for nearly 20 years until her retirement on July 1, 2005.
Mazy enjoyed antiquing, reading and was a talented quilter. Marilyn loved her feline companions. Most important was her family, especially her grandchildren.
Marilyn leaves behind her sons; Jonathan Metz of West Berlin, MD and Justin Metz of Rising Sun, MD., her grandchildren; Jayda, Emma, and Tyler Metz, stepdaughters; Wendie (Paul) Brost, Kimala (Michael) Smith, and Tracey Schultheis (Jonathan Sanbuichi), step grandchildren; Connor and Camryn Brost, Shane Smith, Jonathan Schultheis and Gabriella Cintron, siblings; Philip Jr. (Gail) McClure of Crystal River, FL., and Susan (Russell) Troup of Mifflinburg, PA., as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Besides her parents and husband, Marilyn was predeceased by a son; Jason Metz, and a sister; Jule McClure.
A graveside service will be held at 1 P.M. on Monday, October 14, 2024, at Glenwood Cemetery, 801 E. Main Street in Troy with Pastor Kenneth Marple officiating.
Pepper Funeral Home and Cremation Facility, 578 Springbrook Drive in Canton is assisting the family with arrangements. In lieu of flowers memorial donations in Marilyn's name may be directed to a charity of one's choice.
