Marlene Kay (Husted) Wilber, 88, of Canton, passed away at her residence on Wednesday, January 22, 2025. Marlene K. was born May 23, 1936, in Blossburg, a daughter to the late Harold Husted and Dorothy Jane (Herman) Kelley. She attended Canton Area Schools and was a graduate of the class of 1954. On August 6, 1955, Marlene married Douglas Wilber in the Alba Christian Church. The couple shared 45 years of loving marriage and raised four children. Marlene was no stranger to hard work. She was employed as a secretary for the Canton High School in her younger years. She then worked as a bookkeeper for Marvin Groff and as a waitress at Hickok's all while helping with the daily chores on the family farm.
Marlene loved to crotchet, read and do puzzles. She was a big fan of Elvis Presley, Penn State football, and the Buffalo Bills. Watching her afternoon soap operas and getting on the computer to check her emails to keep up with everyone was a favorite past time for Marlene. She was a social butterfly and always looked forward to her Friday hair appointments and lunches with the girls. Anyone who knew Marlene will remember her infectious laugh and loving hugs. Most important was her family, and time spent with them, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
